This paper discussed the development and change of forest and forestry nearly more than two centuries. Modern forestry realizes the sustainable development of forestry , bringing into play the function of forest ecosystem ecological environment as the core and key and in full play to the forest ecological, economic and social functions as the guiding ideology and target of forestry.
